In the 1975/76 Rotary year, Bertie Cook became the President-elect of his club. He obtained his club’s approval to sponsor the formation of a club in Banjul in collaboration with a club in Senegal. Henry Gallanca of the Dakar Club was at the time the District Governor for the clubs in District 210, and Bertie Cook visited him in Dakar to enlist his assistance in the formation of a club in Banjul.
